The Record Interviews Lawyer Tom Scarritt on His
Tom Scarritt possibly should win a separate award for the best locale from which to receive a bar association's civil trial attorney award. Federal Judge Upholds Plant City Ban of Tattoo Studios in Historic Downtown
Plant City’s ban on tattoo and body-piercing studios in the downtown historic district has survived a legal challenge. Licensed tattoo artist David S. Hudder took the city to court over its denial of his request to open a shop at 109 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. He contended the city’s exclusion of the businesses was unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich sided with the city, which contends tattoo studios are not compatible with downtown’s “family-oriented” image.

Dobyville Dollhouse, Smallest Home for Sale in Tampa Bay, Has Vivid History
From one angle, this dollhouse looks like one of those trendy, minimalist micro-homes, all 388 square feet of it tucked into a tiny thumbprint among the oaks of Historic Hyde Park North. It is by far the smallest home on the market in Tampa Bay, thinner than a lane of traffic and built in 1910, a clapboard relic lost in one of South Tampa's fastest changing neighborhoods. Tom Scarritt, 57, a lawyer, bought it with his wife, Linda, a decade ago, convinced it would make a good one room ren...

Speculation Surrounds Campaign Finance Reform
Some Democrats saw campaign finance reform passed by the Legislature this year as helpful in their bid to defeat Gov. Rick Scott but, in fact, it could help Republicans more, campaign finance experts and Florida political figures say. Meanwhile, watchdogs who track money in politics differ sharply over whether the reform bill will do what its proponents claim — lessen the influence of special interest money in politics.
