Plant City Sued Over 911 Call in Woman's Death

The city of Plant City faces a lawsuit in the 2008 death of a Tampa woman who called 911 from inside a car trunk before she was killed. The woman, Jennifer Johnson, 31, was kidnapped Nov. 15, 2008. She spoke with a Plant City 911 operator via a cell phone. Johnson told the operator that she was inside the trunk of her car and didn't know where she was. Police Motorcycle Crash Spurs Suit

Three women struck by a motorcycle during a Plant City Police Department demonstration on Nov. 18 have filed lawsuits asserting that the city failed to provide safety barriers and seating beyond the vehicle's path of travel. The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce also is named as a defendant in the lawsuits. The chamber hosted the motorcycle demonstration for its annual leadership program.

Three Women File Lawsuits After Crash at Plant City Police Motorcycle Demonstration

Three women injured after a Plant City police motorcycle careened into the bleachers where they were sitting filed lawsuits Thursday, alleging they should have been warned of the dangers at the law enforcement demonstration. They're each suing the city and the Plant City Chamber of Commerce. All are seeking compensation for their medical bills and losses.

Plant City Police Details Motorcycle Crash

Plant City police Officer Chad Rader was traveling 37 mph on a motorcycle before he crashed into metal bleachers last month, injuring himself and three others, including the police chief. That's according to a crash report released Monday in compliance with a public records request by the St. Petersburg Times.
