Lawyer and Rotarian Tom Scarritt chaired the Tampa Ybor City Rotary Club High School Speech Contest on February 17, 2016. Students from Hillsborough County High Schools gave their five-seven minute speeches to a packed room, a panel of circuit court judges, and a school board member on the Rotary International Theme: Be a Gift to the World. All contestants placed, and were given cash awards of $100, $50, and $25. The first-place winner will now go on to compete at the regional level, with a chance to proceed to the District Level in Bartow, Florida.
